[00:00:00] This podcast discusses cannabis and is intended for audiences 21 and over.
[00:00:08] Welcome to How to Do the Pot, a podcast helping you feel confident about cannabis. I’m your host, Ellen Scanlon.
[00:00:24] Right now in December, 24 states in the U. S. have legalized cannabis for adult use, and 38 states allow legal medical cannabis. In many places, celebrating with cannabis can be something you embrace openly. It doesn’t have to be a secret anymore. If you’ve ever felt judged about weed, I wonder if that’s because some people might be holding on to outdated stereotypes or They really don’t understand how cannabis makes you feel.
[00:00:58] This new era of legalization gives us an opportunity to change perceptions and to celebrate without feeling any shame. A few months ago, I had a long conversation with my parents about how I like low dose weed that makes me feel like I’ve had one beer. IPA, so it’s a strong beer. Neither of my parents consume cannabis, and I think.
[00:01:25] Think they’re a little scared of it. And when I explained what I like in terms they could relate to, like how I feel and act after just one beer, I could tell they started to understand it a little differently. As more women reconsider their relationship with alcohol, bringing cannabis into celebrations creates a chance to share with the people you love the positive, joyful, responsible ways that cannabis can enhance your life.
[00:01:59] As 2024 wraps up, I’ve been taking a look back at the show’s memorable moments and our many guests. I’ve had the chance to talk to some amazing women who have shared a lot of cannabis wisdom with us. To end the year, I thought it would be fun to ask them, how do you celebrate with cannabis? I knew I wanted to create a new two part series about celebrating with weed.
[00:02:25] As I started asking the questions, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Cannabis is so personal, it affects everyone a little differently, and its legal status depends on where you live. Everyone has their own background, history, and complicated feelings about weed. As I listened to the celebrations for this series, I realized the common thread is that there’s so much joy in these stories.
[00:02:53] That joy is what I want to share with you, especially at this time of year. So get ready to join us next week for part one of our new series. We’ll dive into stories of how cannabis has brought extra joy and fun to life’s most memorable moments, like getting engaged, going on a dreamy honeymoon, celebrating a milestone anniversary, and even making an appearance at Kim Kardashian’s baby shower.
