April Pride: This podcast discusses cannabis and is intended for audiences 21 and over.
April Pride: Are you a fan of true crime stories? This strain was reportedly named for the way it soured business relationships as it spread through New York’s illegal cannabis market, causing riffs as it changed hands among growers.
April Pride: Welcome to Saturday Strains. I’m your host, April Pride, and I’ll be your guide each Saturday as we move through the 12 essential cannabis strains that every woman should have in her stash. If you haven’t already, please listen to the three short Strains Explained episodes to learn more about how cannabis is a lot like another substance we can count on to change our outlook, wine.
April Pride: In each episode, you can expect more weed hacks. And remember, we’ll guide you from less intoxicating strains that are nearly all CBD, to strains with increasingly higher THC levels.
April Pride: Born in the ’90s, today’s strain, Sour Diesel or Sour D has been a stash staple since Master P was saying “Ah.” Don’t get the reference? Check out Episode One of Season Four of Hip Hop Evolution on Netflix. Episode three happens to be about the time and place of my high school years. Back to the program.
April Pride: Here are the five reasons women love Sour Diesel.
April Pride: Number one, what does it help with? Migraines, stress and anxiety, acute or situational depression, including SAD.
April Pride: Number two, how high will I get? Best for women who already consume cannabis this strain kicks in very fast. So if you don’t smoke regularly, just take one or two hits first. Easy does it. Less is definitely more. Sour D offers a long lasting high as well.
April Pride: Number three, how will it make me feel? The strain is mood boosting, great for relieving stress, treating depression, in addition to long lasting focused energy and dreamy cerebral effects. There’s only one way Sour D can make you feel. Absolutely positive. If you’ve listened to our Strains Explained Episode Number One, “What is a strain?”, you’ll remember the skunk family known for their skunk like aroma. Skunk strain varieties provide a balanced and uplifting psychoactive effect and full body buzz. Sour Diesel is the first strain in our essential list from this family and is thought to be a cross between Super Skunk and Chemdawg 91, a strain with ties to Thailand. To most, it smells more like diesel fuel, which is why you may have heard cannabis referred to as gas. This strain can bring on dry eyes and dry mouth. So again, have eye drops and water handy.
April Pride: Number four. Why do women love it? Smoke your sunshine with Sour D. It will help you out of chronic pain or migraines that are keeping you hidden away in dark rooms, physically and mentally. The happy, uplifted effects make the strain a popular alternative to antidepressants. Obviously check with your doctor first. And we like the doctors at American Cannabinoid Clinics. It’s also a top choice among medical patients who want to be okay with the sight, smell, and taste of food.
April Pride: Number five, what will it inspire? Sour D is a solid choice for activities that require stamina and smiles. Creative play, time with friends, or apply the focused energy to a major cleaning project, like your garage. It also happens to inspire the munchies and make it an ideal strain if stress has curbed your appetite. Because this strain won’t bring on couch lock, you might want to take a walk, enjoy nature, or try a mind/body activity like yoga.
April Pride: And some parting words. Please reserve judgment if a strain we recommend doesn’t work for you. You haven’t failed and neither have we. In fact having gotten it wrong, you’re one step closer to your right high. You didn’t quit drinking when a Long Island Iced Tea as your first bar drink turned out to be a wrong move, right? Send us a DM @dothepot or to me directly @aprilpride and let us know how this strain worked for you.
